What affects the price
- ✓The scope and complexity of the case: a simple contract review takes less time than a dispute involving several parties.
- ✓Whether the matter is resolved by agreement or needs representation in court. For a divorce, for example, I distinguish between an uncontested divorce and a contested one, which is usually more demanding in both time and cost.
- ✓How many documents and how much communication with the other side or with authorities is involved.
- ✓Urgency: a standard timeline, or a matter that needs to move fast.
- ✓For businesses, whether it is a one-off task or ongoing cooperation, which is often better suited to a monthly retainer.
